71 and Still Smashing It: Why Steve Trains More Now Than in His 20s

Steve is a 71-year-old retired printer who’s been training since he was 19  that’s over 50 years of gym experience! He joined RAW just after COVID, looking for a place that could keep him active, challenged, and structured in retirement.

The Challenge

Despite a lifetime of training, Steve had never tried structured classes or worked out alongside women. The thought of it was actually more daunting than he expected. He was used to doing his own thing in the gym no timetable, no structure, and very little variation.

Why He Nearly Didn't Start

Steve wasn’t sure how he’d fit into a class-based environment. He had never done PT-led sessions, and the idea of mixed group workouts made him nervous. He wondered if he’d stand out or feel uncomfortable.
