Fully Recovered and Stronger Than Ever!
In Sept 2018 I herniated 2 discs in my back and was literally unable to walk for 8 weeks. As I started to recover I really started to think about my health and strength, much more than my weight which had always been a constant battle (a yo yo dieter whose tried it all but that’s for another day). I wanted to protect my back from any further injury and was being advised by specialists that core and back strength were key to this.
In late December I hobbled into the Raw gym and was immediately met with friendliness, understanding and more importantly positive vibes. I was interested in the 8 week challenge starting in January but was anxious about the 3 gym sessions I would need to be involved in especially having been incapacitated for such a long period of time.
Following my first gym session I genuinely couldn’t get enough. The team at Raw were so supportive of my recovery and the fact I needed to start off adjusting some of the exercises. Never was I made to feel that I couldn’t achieve amazing things and that was not only just from the trainers but also from the rest of the Raw family.
19 weeks in, I now try and attend 5 session a week which I would never have thought I could achieve before joining. Current stats are 3 stone 7lb down in weight and over 60cm lost and I am only half way through the 2nd 8 week challenge so there is def still more to come.
More important that all of that, I’m strong. For the first time ever I can see the progression I’m making and how much fitter I have become. I have joined multiple gyms in my bid to lose weight or get fit but this time it really has clicked.
